Talking Diaries

Safia Jama MBE

Safia is Chief Executive and Founder of Women's Inclusive Team (WIT), a Tower Hamlets-based organisation which serves Black and ethnic minority communities. Here she talks about her Somali background, growing up in the UAE and what it's like living in Tower Hamlets.

Emmanuel Baido

Emmanuel is Health Engagement Project Manager for Spotlight Youth Centre. He talks about his Ghanaian parents, the challenges facing young Black men in London and why he's at peace by a canal.

Cat Phillips

Cat is a Youth Worker. She explains the difference between Guyana and Ghana, experiencing racism at a bus stop and the ‘Garden of Eden' on her doorstep in London's Docklands.
