The charity making life better by water

Trevor Basin Visitor Centre

With stories, hands on models, games and films, come and discover more about Ponty, how it was built, and why, at our free Trevor Basin Visitor Centre.

Wonder of the waterways

The aqueduct is actually one of the seven wonders of our waterways. Its story is as amazing as its architecture. So thanks to your generous donations and our own army of dedicated volunteers, we run the visitor centre at Trevor Basin, next to the aqueduct.

Stories from the aqueduct

As well as a treasure trove of curious artefacts dating all the way back to its construction, you can see, hear and watch ‘Stories from the aqueduct'. There's a superb animation of how the Victorian engineers solved the problem of building a canal so high in the sky. You can even challenge your children to building the aqueduct themselves with our fantastic hand-made, wooden ‘build the aqueduct' puzzle.
